February 2017 – More than 150 people joined the SFNPT on Thursday February 2 at the DoubleTree Suites by Hilton in Naples for our 2nd annual Wine & Wildlife event. The event showcases Big Cypress National Preserve, the Gulf Coast district of Everglades National Park, and the amazing abundance of wildlife these parks protect including the endangered Florida panther. South Florida wildlife biologist Joe Wasilewski provided the wildlife (an American alligator and a Burmese python), event sponsor Guest Services provided the food (an over-the-top seafood buffet, a mashed potato bar and dessert bar), and the National Park Service rangers provided the reason for the season.
Event proceeds will support programs and projects in all four South Florida national parks, including the science education programs that bring 6th-grade students from Collier County into the Big Cypress for a day of outdoor learning.
Thank you to our event sponsor Guest Services, to Joe Wasilewski for providing the wildlife, and to the many friends and donors who joined us that evening to support our national parks!
